By train

Rennes is less than 1 hour 30 minutes from the centre of Paris, and 2 hours 38 minutes from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport and station. Want to go straight to the seaside? Just 2 hours 15 minutes from Paris by direct train, Saint-Brieuc and Saint-Malo are among the French beaches closest to Paris by train. From the Paris-Montparnasse station, you can reach Nantes in 2 hours, Vannes in 3 hours, Quimper in 4 hours and Brest in 4 hours 30 minutes. You can get to the Paris-Montparnasse station by taxi, bus or metro (line 4; 6; 12 or 13).

By plane

Brittany has airports at Rennes, Dinard, Brest, Lorient, Quimper and Nantes. It is linked to the rest of the world by connecting flights via Paris and direct flights from Germany, the UK, Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, Portugal, Italy and Canada.

By boat

Brittany Ferries sails from Portsmouth, Plymouth and Cork to Saint-Malo and Roscoff.

By car

Rennes is connected to Paris by 350 km of motorway. Once in Brittany, motorists can use the regional motorways, which are all toll-free.

    By train: from London, visitors from the UK can reach the Gare du Nord station in 2 hours 20 minutes by Eurostar.

  • Travelling from Belgium

    By train: there are several direct flights a week between Brussels and Rennes, with the flight lasting around 4.5 hours.
    Thalys also provides direct services from Brussels to Paris in 1 hour 22 minutes and to Charles de Gaulle airport in 1 hour 15 minutes. There are also direct flights to Paris from Schiphol, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Liège and Aachen.

    By plane: there are direct flights between Brussels and Rennes (6 direct flights a week) and Brussels and Nantes.

  • From the Netherlands

    By train: from Amsterdam, Thalys takes you to the Gare du Nord station in Paris in 3 hours and 19 minutes. The Thalys service stops at Rotterdam, Antwerp and Brussels and runs 10 times a day. You can also go via Lille. From Amsterdam it takes about 2.5 hours by train. Once in Lille, take the train to Rennes (without having to change stations).
